ACACIA COVE RETIREMENT VILLAGE IN LOCK DOWN

Posted 2 October 2013

STOLEN CAR ... POLICE PURSUIT ... POLICE HELICOPTER ... POLICE DOGS ... ACACIA COVE RETIREMENT VILLAGE ... WHAT DO ALL OF THESE HAVE IN COMMON?

Earlier this year, Harrison Tew implemented an Emergency Management Plan into Acacia Cove and the Lock Down training was one of the main components of the Plan.

Unfortunately, worst case scenario hit Acacia Cove mid August, whereby a stolen car which was being pursued by Police ended up crashing into a power pole within the Acacia Cove Village grounds.

Bruce Cullington, Manager of Acacia Cove, immediately activated the signal for the entire Village to go into Lock Down, resulting in all of the Residents and Staff safely securing themselves as they had been trained to do.  Fortunately all four offenders were arrested by the Police.  The fourth capture was due to an astute resident who located him in her back yard!!

The team at Harrison Tew are so pleased that all of the staff and residents are safe and sound and that you are comfortable in the fact that you can now confidently handle your Lock Down response.
